Curse of the Crimson Throne

Harsing Around
Harse Biscuits

Brinkley found Gunta Tor to be guilty of coke dealing. He has been secured in Harse’s prison by a paladin of Abadar, Sir Oliver, Knight of the Golden Fist and his Squire David.

The legendary swordsman Vencarlo Orisini has been left as Mayor of the town. While perhaps not in his prime he offers a trusted face to this divided community. How long will these opposing figures of the church and the scoundrel work together for the good of the much tested people of Harse.

The now leaderless Green Men have been offered acceptance, work and shelter from the new Mayor Vencarlo.

The party along with Zon-Kuthonite Talia and Seneschal of Castle Korvosa Neolandus Kalenpopolis finally began their journey to Kaer Maga, Asylum Stone, The City of Strangers. Their route crossed a caravan of Varisian gypsies fleeing from Korvosa. Thier livelihoods were recovered from some hill giants while an old Chelish outpost of the Everwar was discovered habouring disease and starvation based tatics of the Chels against the local population of Varisians and Shoanti. This Outpost indicated the location of an ancient armoury on the Storval Plateau.

The party then committed some crimes against roleplaying at the chintzy Pick and Shovel, notorious tourist trap of Janderhoff.

The party now follows the bizarre dreams of a half-elf priestess of Zon-Kuthon, who may hold the only key to combating Queen Ileosa. Whilst they also protect the Seneschal, the only person left with any legal leverage over the Queen.

The route will take us through Sirathu, finally reaching the land of the outsider, The Hex, Kaer Maga.

The Story So Far....
I seem to remember something about a portal... Never mind

Gaedren Lamm killed a Varisian, Zellara’s son. She sent you there for vengeance. Turns out he’d killed her too and now you carry around her spirit in the form of a Harrowing deck. Gaedren also had a brooch of the Queens. Leaving Gaedren’s boat/dock based lair the party found the city in chaos as King Eored II had died leaving Queen Illeosa as the Monarch.

Met Grau drunk and depressed that he had lost his master Vencarlo to Sabina Merrin the Queens bodyguard. He tried to split them up resulting in a duel where Sabina got a scar down the check and Vencarlo lost two fingers. Went to Castle Korvosa to return broach met Sabina and Queen in mourning.

Sabina suggested there would be work to help calm the city at Citadel Volshyenek where the party met Field Marshal Cressida Kroft. The party investigated Arkona’s ‘All the Worlds Meat’ operation fronted by Verik Vancaskerkin who was having an affair with Vimanda Arkona, the Lord’s daughter. The party found nothing suspicious and let Verik leave. The next job was to stop a Chelish diplomat from bad mouthing the city by finding some dirt on him at the Eel’s End. This establishment was run by Devargo Barvasi. The party took the diplomatic option and sunk his ship with a combination of Aurochs and Peon.

Leaving Eel’s End a warrant has been put out for Trina Sabour who the Queen claims killed her husband. Cressida doesn’t fancy it and sends the PCs to capture her and investigate. Roof top chase followed by ridiclous amounts of falling off rooves and Trina was safe back at the temple of Torag.

Cressida urgently calls the party back to the Citadel. A Shoanti Shamen called 1000 bones is there his son has been killed by drunk Chels and Shoanti are about to kick off as body is sacred and missing. Cue most PCs recovering dismembered body from Rolth the Necromancer’s lair while Helfur fell in love with an ogre and peon caught the boss in a duvet. Ahhh low level combat.

With Trinia safe with an amulet of non-detection the Queen announces that she hangs this evening. At execution Arkona gives Helfur a sword which is later discovered to be a form of spy. Lictor Servies D’Vrie says is watching party. Blackjack saves decoy girl and escapes.

Plague ship is spotted. Grau’s sister is cured and meet Ishani Dhatri. Vencarlo gives you decoy and you take her and Trina to Harse. Coming back the city is looking bad from plague. Crowds outside temples and not enough spells to go round. Meet Cressida with Dr Davalus and his Physicians plus the new Grey Maidens.

With the population in Old Korvosa faring the worst the area was sealed off. The party found a Rovagug cult operating out of a church to Caeden Cailen there.

Investigating the plague we saw vampires from Ustalav, fake cures from peddlers, sea hag on the sunken plague ship and an undead ball at the Carowyn Manor. The ball was conducted by Jolistina Susperio, a masochistic lover of Rolths.

The information gathered from the above leads the party to the hospice of the blessed maiden. Dr Davalus was found to be a member of the Red Mantis and killed. While a massive temple to Urgotha lied beneath the hospice. Cue very dangerous fight with Rolth the Necro, Ustalavian Vampire and Lady Andaisin bad ass preistess of Urgotha. Between the doctor, vampire and Rolth the party found enough information to make a cure from the blood of the Carowyn family and the plague was being spread from the vaults of Abadar via the coinage. Creation and distribution of the cure begins.

The Queen announces the Physicians are to be hung for spreading the plague. Party attend and meet Talia a Zon-Kuthon artifact hunter. Explosion from the temple of Torag and some goons dressed as Mantis have stolen the kids the cure was being made from. Arkona sends Guilme to ask the party to investigate a warehouse. Goons hung but party are ambushed by mantis, killing one.

Lord Shen becomes new Archbanker of Abadar and openly welcomes a working relationship with Asmoedae. Instructions follow to support the collection of taxes in Harse. Arkona starts distributing cure. Party go to escort a Arkonan family member from her boat where she is taken by devils. Stealing the Arkonan boat the party arrive in Harse.

Helfur discovers the Queen has artifact of Zon-Kuthon from his most powerful avatar Kazavon and a minor artifact may be held in Kaer Maga.

Current situation in Harse remains unresolved…..
